I'm trippin'!

Call me crazy... Yep, I'm a trippin'! This is my first stab at trying something like this, so if you're new to my blog, WELCOME! If you're an avid lurker, come out! And if you already know me and visit my blog often, sit back and well, enjoy the blog....or join me! I'm going on a trip! Stay tuned to five days of fun, from September 1st to the 5th. I will be posting on each of those days as mommy bloggers from all over come cruising by to visit me and my post for the day (I will be visiting their's too!).

I'm looking forward to a vacation - one which gives me something to blog about each day. You're not tired of my kids are you?

But before I start packing, The Rib Cook-Off is coming up! That'll be a post to look forward to!

Monday Mayhem: Back to School!

So far, so good. I managed to get Dominic fed and dressed for school; Donovan dressed and pottied; and Devin diaper-changed and dressed. Then myself dressed and ready to be Taxi Mom (...with camera in hand for First Day of School photos). I'm happy to report there were no flaws in the system and we met our destinations on time. Tomorrow, however, is another day.

Okay, so tonight was a different ball game. Rudy assists with coaching Dominic's soccer team and had practice tonight; Donovan goes along for the pure enjoyment of "playing" with his brother. With the boys not getting home until 7:30 pm, they were lucky to scarf down dinner, bathe and ready for bed and make it for story-reading by 9:00 pm. THAT's one hour longer than I had hoped. I pray we'll somehow get our evening routine down with as little fuss as possible. I think it was 9:15 pm when I finally put the dogs' bowls out for their dinner. They're not liking this schedule change.

First Day of School
and another day at daycare

(bad mommy moment: I left Devin in the car
and didn't include him in any pictures.)

A Great Day to Play

It was a great day at Safetyville USA! (If you're new to this little town, visit the post I did sometime in June). The weather was perfect and the kids had a blast.

Donovan's guests included all of his cousins, Aunts, Uncles and one friend... yep, just the one. Betcha couldn't figure him out! Grandma and Papa Avila were able to bring Peyton and Sydney, since Bianca was away for the weekend in a Soccer Tournament. We missed them and hope The Rage did well. Grandma and Papa Gertie got Donovan a scooter and helmet, which he wouldn't take off for the rest of the day.

I thought I'd be up all night gathering photos and coming up with a slideshow of all the fun we had. As it turns out, Grandma Gertie already did that for me! After a few editions, here's what the final result was:

It's been a rather quick summer for me, it seems, and I'm pretty much party-pooped out. Who's next? I'll be sure to sit back and relax for their party.

P.S. Leave a comment to let Grandma Gertie know what a WONDERFUL display of photos she had taken for Donovan's special day! She gets all the credit!

Weeeee, we're three!

Happy Birthday, my sweet (baby) boy! It's been another year!

We celebrated Donovan's 3rd Birthday on Saturday. I managed to do a lot of video taking this time - yea me. Grandma Gertie took photos as well (duh!).

Stay tuned!

No Party for Papa?

A Father's Day photo

Today was Papa's birthday. We revved up our voices and sang Happy Birthday (the "cha, cha, cha" version) and had yummy Baskin Robbins ice cream cake. Donovan helped Papa to blow out his candle, a bit anxious for his own party this Saturday. The boys gleefully gave Papa a Costco-packed size box of M&Ms. They are a HIT at the Avila Residence, where the grandkids will line up for their share of M&Ms. Some of the boys' first words usually include "cannie", thanks to their Papa. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA!

It's Been 4 Months???

Click to play Newspaper

We're learning new things: chewing fingers makes for wet t-shirts!; rolling over from back to front is a "not so fun" position; and size 2 diapers aren't the "in thing" anymore.

Devin has his well-child check in the morning. We'll see how well he handles his immunizations. I'll let you know his chart status in another post.

The post with no name.

I'm at a loss for blogging material. In fact, blogging withdrawals have set in and I'm scrambling to get a post in tonight for fear of setting a record of number of days between posts. Trying to come up with some decent stuff was difficult. My choices of subjects include:
  1. The Governator motions to reduce State employee salaries to minimum wage until a Budget is signed for the State of California.
  2. Potty-training central has de-railed.
  3. Rudy's car breaks down, gets towed home and costs over $125 for a part.
  4. Rudy passes a kidney stone and survives!
  5. Gas is $4.02 a gallon... a bargain!
  6. Cute kids.
..... twisting my own arm .... Kids!!! I've got cute kids!

Shh....we need concentration here... on the potty.

Dominic takes a break from the park to hold his brother.

Proof that Rudy did pass a kidney stone,
about 2mm in diameter.

Heck, this is GREAT blogging material, right?
