A new best friend

Those who know me probably already know of my jobless status. Yes, I've recently joined the thousands who are unemployed in California. Yes, devastating. What am I going to do with 3 kids on my own? I will soon find out. Having Dominic home this week for summer has "gotten my feet wet" for what's to come when the other two are with me and won't be attending daycare starting next week. It's quite a change for ALL of us. This bizarrely feels like Maternity Leave, except I have no baby to feed or change and I have no job to go back to.

After countless hours of job searching and resume posting, I needed a break. I turned to my mom's group and actually got to go to a 9:00 AM playdate with Dominic - something I never got to do while working full time. It was such a beautiful day this morning and I thoroughly enjoyed the company of other moms. The park we met at was fairly new and had play structures for kids from ages 2-5 and 5-12. After playing for a bit on our own, more moms came along and the rest is history. Dominic met Logan. They have quite a lot in common, besides their age - they are both Pokemon Masters!! I believe they spoke an entirely different language the entire time we were there. I'm so glad Dominic found a buddy already for the summer. We hope to attend more playdates this summer until my jobless status is reversed.

So sorry to hear about your job! Maybe it's a blessing in disguise! I remember feeling so scared when I had to quit my job to stay home with the quads. Somehow you find ways to make it work. Thinking of you & wishing you the VERY best!

Glad to see you have taken a breather from the computer and got some fresh air. That looks like a neat park. Where is that located?
